About This Simulation
This is a functional model of a human neuron with realistic action potential propagation. The neuron fires when stimulated, sending electrical signals from dendrites → soma → axon → synaptic terminals. Watch the action potential (blue pulse) travel along the axon at ~120 m/s, jumping between nodes of Ranvier (saltatory conduction).
